Meredith (voiceover): Remember when you were a kid and your biggest worry was, like, if you'd get a bike for your birthday or if you'd get to eat cookies for breakfast?
Being an adult? Totally overrated. I mean seriously, don't be fooled by all the hot shoes and the great sex and the no parents anywhere telling you what to do. Adulthood is responsibility. Responsibility, it really does suck. Really, really sucks. Adults have to be places and do things and earn a living and pay the rent. And if you're training to be a surgeon, holding a human heart in your hands, hello? Talk about responsibility. Kind of makes bikes and cookies look really, really good, doesn't it? The scariest part about responsibility? When you screw up and let it slip right through your fingers.
Responsibility, it really does suck. Unfortunately, once you get past the age of braces and training bras, responsability doesn't go away. It can't be avoided. Either someone makes us face it or we suffer the consequences. And still adulthood has its perks.
I mean the shoes, the sex, the no parents anywhere telling you what to do. That's pretty damn good.

BOYFRIEND CRITERIA

Via Oh, hello there I found this, loooong time ago.

Except from criterion 4 (I don't watch horror movies).... the rest are just suuuper fine with me.

By the way, this is just a suggestion, but I do really encourage you to take notes about it.

Lucas: Regret comes in all shapes and sizes. Some are small, like when we do a bad thing, for a good reason. Some are bigger, like when we let down a friend. Some of us escape the pains of regret by making the right choice. Some of us have little time for regret, because we're looking forward to the future. Sometimes we have to fight to come to terms with the past. And sometimes we bury our regret, by promising to change our ways. But our biggest regrets are not for the things we did...but the things we didn't do. The things we didn't say that could save someone we care about.
Especially when we can see the dark storm that's headed their way.

Lucas: There comes a time when every life goes off course. In this desperate moment you must choose your direction. Will you fight to stay on the path while others tell you who you are? Or will you label yourself? Will you be honored by your choice? Or will you embrace your new path? Each morning you choose to move forward or to simple give up.

One Tree Hill.

And today we have been talking about this, just a little bit, but it looks like there's someone else out there who is also trying to find THE WAY
Well, maybe the capital letters are a bit too much...."the way" keeps changing all the time...I swear.....nearly a year since I came back and so many things have happened!!! and all of them while looking for "they way"

I guess it's time to stop looking for THE WAY, enjoy the ongoing gone, and from time to time think a bit of the possible one

Meredith Grey (voiceover): Intimacy is a four syllable word for "Here's my heart and soul, please grind them into hamburger, and enjoy." It's both desired, and feared. Difficult to live with, and impossible to live without. Intimacy also comes attached to the three R's: relatives, romance, and roomates. There are some things you can't escape. And other things you just don't want to know.

2010

A decade has already gone, they said the world would be over by 01.01.2000. And here we are. Some have gone and some new ones are about to come.

Out there, 2010 has been a roller coaster....from North to South, from East to West; Iceland, South Africa, Gulf of Mexico, Pakistan we cried, we laughed, we were disappointed and we made some discoveries

There would be things to forget but many others to remember.

Meredith Grey (voiceover): There's constant pressure to adapt to changes. It can be a painful process. But without it, you'll find yourself moving backwards instead of forwards. We have to keep reinventing ourselves almost every minute because the world can change in an instant, and there's no time for looking back. Sometimes the changes are forced on us, sometimes they happen by accident, and we make the most of them. we have to constantly come up with new ways to fix ourselves. So we change, we adapt, we create new versions of ourselves. We just need to be sure that this one in an improvement over the last.

Meredith Grey (voiceover): In general, people can be categorized in one of two ways those who love surprises and those who don't. I don't. I've never met a surgeon that enjoys a surprise, because as surgeons, we like to be in the know. We have to be in the know, because when we aren't, people die and lawsuits happen. Am I rambling? I think I'm rambling. Okay, so my point, actually, and I do have one, has nothing to do with surprises or death or lawsuits, or even surgeons. My point is this: whoever said "What you don't know can't hurt you", was a complete and total moron. Because for most people I know, not knowing is the worst feeling in the world.

This week I went to Madrid for a couple of days, a quick visit that reminds me how much do I like this city. Before going, I asked to a friend of mine, who is always updated regarding the capital, about where to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Amongst the different options that she gave me (I nearly tried them all....INDULGENCE!!!!) "Le Pain Quotidien" was one of the best places.

Ok, now it is important to mention that I love breakfast, I could have breakfast all the time and so this place was great for starting a new day...

A really cozy place, classical music, no rush....and warm bread!!!! :)

A great sin.

Thank you soooooooo much for the recommendation, there will be a second time, for sure!!!

I love libraries. Getting lost between shelves, touching and enjoying the cover of many books, and reading so many synopsis that at the end, you can't even remember the title of the first three books you took.

What pushes me to decide which book to loan is, quite often, the dedication...how to explain it...it "embraces" you, and you like it so much, that you have to keep on with the reading...

Tomorrow I will go back to the library, in search of "hugs". Can't wait to know the title of the next book.

Fotografiska. Stockholm

During my stay in Stockholm, I had the chance to visit Fotografiska.
For the ones who doesn't know, Fotografiska is a Forum for Photography.
2,500 square meters to show the work of many renown photographers. It is located in "Stora Tulhuset" Stadsgardshamnen, 22.

Heading to the museum, soaking (yes, I also tried Swedish rain), and without knowing the exhibitions that were on display, what a surprise!!!!

Lennart Nilsson-A Child is Born
Vee Speers-The Birthday Party
Annie Leibovitz-A Photographer's Life 1990-2005

What else could I ask for? I spent several hours inside enjoying every single photograph, and a cup of tea in the great cafe from where you can enjoy the view of Gamla Stan and Tivoli.

I bought several postcards, and cried for every single book I couldn't take with me :(

Annie Leibovitz exhibition was amazing...and I couldn't avoid smiling when I saw two photographs of the Guggenheim museum of Bilbao that she took when it was being built...it is always nice to see a piece of your hometown while you are abroad :)

Lennart Nilsson-A Child is Born
Vee Speers-The Birthday Party
Annie Leibovitz-A Photographer's Life 1990-2005

AH!

Images: Lady Desidia, I "stole" them from AH

Not a long time ago I discovered this shop in the old part of Bilbao...needless to say that I fell in love with it straight away! Everything inside it, every tiny detail deserves a moment...can't wait to go back and see what can I get!!!
By the way! it was great to see several items I already planned to buy online, in this shop...and the best thing is that I bumped into it because I got lost while trying to find my way back to the subway :)

A propósito!

Lon-don

I was lucky enough to meet up with some friends for a weekend in London.
Flying there on Friday and coming back on Sunday, it was an exhausting weekend, but well deserved :)
Not having so much time forced us to squeeze hours and seize the seconds...However we didn't miss a thing.
I should mention Saturday night out, we headed SE and went to Shunt in London Bridge...what a different place!!! comparable to nothing and nowhere I have ever been to...
London doesn't change but it cannot stay still...as hectic as always, as busy as it is...there is never too much of this city, and even when I get too much of it and I can't stand it anymore...deep inside me, it is my beloved London

Marlango

Esta canción es una nana que no se ha incluido en el disco (sólo si se compra en iTunes) y fue compuesta con fines benéficos para ayudar a erradicar el SIDA en África (campaña de Bugaboo y RED). Personalmente pienso que es una de sus mejores canciones...aunque personalmente también pienso que las 50 y tantas restantes son también de sus mejores canciones... (-;

Ahora, el 2 de Junio en Buenos Aires

Preciosa lullaby...

I'll help you climb, I'll let you go
I'll try to teach you what I've learnt
I'll help you search, you won't get lost
You can always come back home

Our senses rise while our cities tumble

Cars are whistling, traffic lights winking, seconds expiring, noisy sounds flowing

My eyes ramble your moles...

Soles click-clacking the pavements, thoughts pacing up and down, and mouths wooing lips

...My tongue wrinkles your heart

Secrets dropping in puddles, smiles winding down words, roads grumbling because it's monday

My hands draw our nights...

Whispers tangling feelings, heartbeats burying memories, and a peaceful blue sky

...Your smell lingers on my sheets

Tunes lying to emotions, worries devouring time, speed feeding nerves

Your voice tinkles my ears...

Tiger. Dinamarca

...and you won't look at me with the I've-seen-you-naked-eyes.

This is what I catalogue as one of the best warnings you can give a guy you are willing to date before you two go to bed together (and after too).

The shame is that the next day you'll meet, you will always be wearing see-through clothes. Never mind the size of your scarf or the length of his sleeves...the embarrasing smile will be there but the I -don't- regret thought will hopefully be constantly knocking on your mind.

Art after dark

Anish Kapoor (Bombay, 1954)

Graduado en el Hornsey College of Art y la Chelsea School of Art and Design.

-It used to be romantic
-What?
-The sex over the counter
-Yes
-Anyway, I prefer the talking, and the hugging, and the "goodbye darling, I'll pick you after work"
Mmmm....those are the advantages of getting old, your counter gets full of plates and glasses with love stains

:)

"The rare and radiant maiden whom the angels call..." Leonor, no Ruth")
